What we do
Synthetic turf laying that survives Sydney heat, real foot traffic, and the way you actually use the yard.
Most artificial grass installation problems in Sydney don’t show up in week one — they show up when summer hits, when the dog has run a track along the fence, or when the first heavy rain finds the low spot your installer didn’t level. We’re a Sydney gardening and landscaping team, so we look at the whole space before we touch the turf: drainage, edges, sun, soil, and how the lawn connects to the rest of the yard.
Whether you’re after artificial grass installation for a backyard refresh, synthetic turf installation on a poured concrete pad, or you’ve been searching “artificial turf installers in my area” for a smaller pet area, we’ll give you a fixed on-site quote, prep the base properly, and stand behind the finished job.
If you’ve not made up your mind yet, this read might help: artificial grass vs natural grass — the real trade-offs. Want a real lawn instead? See our natural turf laying service.

Indicative pricing
Roughly what artificial grass installation costs in Sydney
Real numbers depend on the site, the turf you choose, and what’s already there — but here’s an honest range so you can budget before the site visit. Final pricing is fixed in writing after we walk the job.
Small & simple
$75–$95 / m²
Easy access, soft ground, no major prep. Think balconies, small courtyards, pet runs, or a tidy front-yard strip.
Typical backyard
$95–$130 / m²
Mid-grade turf, old lawn removal, levelling, compacted crusher dust base, clean perimeter — what most Sydney homes need.
Premium / complex
$130–$180 / m²
Premium turf, sloped sites, drainage works, sleeper or paver edging, larger commercial, or laying synthetic turf on concrete with shockpad.
Why a range, not a flat number? Two backyards the same size can quote 40% apart based on access, dig-out depth, slope, and turf grade. The site visit is what makes the price real — and it’s free.
Where it works
Surfaces and situations we install on
We handle laying artificial grass on soil, laying synthetic turf on concrete, and most things between. If you’re not sure whether your site is suitable, send a few photos with your quote request — we’ll tell you straight.
Backyards & front yards
The classic switch: replacing a patchy, water-hungry lawn with year-round green that won’t turn brown in February.
Pet runs & play areas
Dog-friendly turf, drainage holes for hose-off cleaning, no mud, no dug holes, no dead patches under the trampoline.
On concrete & pavers
Laying artificial grass on concrete works well if drainage is right — we add shockpad underlay so the slab doesn’t show through underfoot.
Balconies & rooftops
Lightweight options, custom cuts, neat edges against tile or decking. Apartment-friendly with no permanent fixing.
Pool surrounds
Soft, splinter-free underfoot, no chlorine browning, no leaf decomposition staining. Drains fast after a swim.
Commercial & strata
Office courtyards, body-corporate common areas, childcare and aged-care outdoor spaces, retail display zones.
Our process
Five-step artificial grass installation, the same way every time.
The boring parts are the parts that make the lawn last. Here’s exactly what happens once you book a site visit.
Site visit & fixed quote
We measure, check levels, drainage, and access, talk through turf choices, and price the whole job in writing — no “from” figures.
Clear & prep
Base & drainage
Excavate to depth, lay and compact crusher dust, sort low spots and runoff. On concrete we add shockpad and check fall.
Lay & join
Turf is rolled, relaxed, cut to fit, joined with proper seam tape and outdoor adhesive, then secured at the edges.
Brush, infill & sign-off
Sand infill brushed in to keep blades upright, perimeter checked, site cleaned, and you get a simple aftercare sheet.
Works well with
Naturally pairs with our other Sydney garden services
Sprinkler installation is often booked alongside other work because the timing makes sense for example, before a new lawn goes in, or as part of a bigger garden refresh.
Method one
Laying synthetic turf on soil
The most common artificial grass installation in Sydney. The base does the work — get this right and the lawn looks even for years.
- Dig out existing lawn and topsoil (typically 70–100mm)
- Lay and compact a crusher-dust base
- Correct slope so water moves away from the house
- Weed barrier where invasive roots are a risk
- Turf rolled, seamed, edged, then sand-infilled
Method two
Laying artificial grass on concrete
Less digging, but drainage and surface flatness become the priorities. Skip the underlay and you’ll feel every crack underfoot.
- Inspect slab for cracks, hollows, and existing fall
- Clean, dry, and treat the surface
- Shockpad underlay so the slab doesn’t telegraph through
- Ensure water can escape — drill or rely on existing slope
- Glue-and-tape secure at perimeter and seams
Why A1
The difference between an artificial grass installation company and a gardening team that also lays turf
Specialist turf suppliers know turf. We know turf plus the soil, drainage, edging, paving, and planting around it — because we do the rest of the yard for a living. That’s why we catch the things a roll-and-go install often misses.
Fixed on-site pricing
Quoted in writing after we walk the site. No surprise call-outs, no “we hit a tree root” upcharges.
Work guaranteed
If something moves, lifts, or doesn’t sit right after we finish, we come back. That’s the deal.
Licensed gardener & landscaper
Same team for prep, install, and finish. No subcontractor handoffs between site prep and the turf going down.
Sydney-specific judgement
Sandy coastal blocks behave differently to heavy clay in the west. We adjust the base build to suit, not a generic template.
Whole-yard view
Artificial grass rarely sits alone — we line it up with your paving, retaining walls, and garden beds.
Owner-led, not call-centre-led
Quoted in writing after we walk the site. No surprise call-outs, no “we hit a tree root” upcharges.
In every job

Turf supply (your choice of pile height and tone)
Clean perimeter and tidy edges
Full site clean-up at end of job

Buyer’s guide
Red flags when comparing artificial grass installers
Cheap quotes that look great on paper often skip the same handful of things. If you’re collecting quotes from multiple companies, ask these five questions before you sign anything.
“From $X per m²” with no site visit
Artificial turf grass installation cost is driven by access, dig-out, and existing surface. Without seeing the job, the price isn’t real.
No mention of base prep or compaction depth
Artificial turf preparation is roughly half the job. If the quote doesn’t say what’s going under the grass, assume it’s going to be thin.
Drainage isn’t discussed
If your yard has a low spot or runoff issue today, it’ll have one under artificial grass tomorrow — unless someone fixes it during prep.
No after-care guidance
Even low-maintenance turf benefits from a brush, a rinse, and an infill top-up every so often. A good installer tells you the schedule.
No clear point of contact
If quoting, scheduling, and the site team are three different people, things go sideways. Ask who owns the job from quote to finish.
FAQ
Common questions about artificial grass installation in Sydney
The questions we get most often on the first call. If yours isn’t here, ring or message and we’ll answer straight.
Most Sydney jobs land in the $95–$130 per m² range for mid-grade turf, supplied and installed on a typical residential site. Smaller, simpler areas can be lower; sloped sites, premium turf, or laying synthetic turf on concrete with shockpad will sit higher. We give you a fixed price in writing after the site visit so you know the total before you commit.
Around 1–2 days for most residential yards under 50 m². Larger or more complex sites — drainage works, multiple zones, concrete prep — can run 3–5 days. We confirm timing in the written quote so you can plan access, pets, and any landscaping that needs to happen around it.
Yes — laying artificial grass on concrete is one of the easier installations if the slab drains and is roughly flat. We add a foam shockpad underlay so the surface feels soft and doesn’t telegraph cracks through the turf. If the slab is severely uneven or holds water, we’ll let you know during the visit and recommend either grinding, drilling drainage holes, or building a new base on top.
Yes, like any dark synthetic surface in direct sun, it warms up — usually noticeably hotter than natural grass in the middle of a hot day. The good news: shade, cloud cover, or a quick rinse with the hose drops the temperature fast. For full-sun pet areas or kids’ play zones, we’ll talk you through cooler-blade options that stay closer to ambient temperature.
Quality artificial grass is non-toxic, doesn’t pollinate (good news for allergies), and doesn’t turn into mud after rain. For pets, you want a turf with good drainage holes and a permeable base so urine flushes through; we recommend a pet-friendly grade for dog runs and rinse with a hose every couple of weeks to keep things fresh.
A well-installed lawn on a properly prepped base typically lasts 10–20 years in Sydney conditions, depending on the turf grade and how heavily it’s used. Manufacturer warranties on the turf itself usually sit in the 7–15 year range — ask us about the specific warranty on the product you choose before you sign off.
Only if installation cuts corners. A compacted base plus a weed barrier where needed stops growth from underneath. The occasional weed seed can still blow in and root in dust on top of the turf, but those pull out by hand in seconds. Weeds punching through the turf is an installation failure, not a turf problem.
Most weeks, nothing — that’s the point. Every month or two: brush the pile against the lay direction with a stiff broom to lift the blades, hose down to clear dust, and remove leaves or organic matter so they don’t break down on the surface. For pet areas, hose more often. Top up the sand infill every couple of years.
Yes — we supply and install in one quote. You’re not chasing a separate supplier for the turf and an installer for the labour. Pick the pile height and tone during the site visit, and we handle the rest.
Both, honestly. We’re a Sydney gardening and landscaping team with 15+ years on the tools, and synthetic turf laying is part of what we do alongside natural turf laying, paving, and landscaping. The advantage: we understand how the lawn sits inside the rest of the yard, not just the patch we’re rolling out.
We service Sydney for residential and commercial artificial grass installation. Easiest way to confirm availability for your address is to send a quote request — we’ll come back within the day with timing.
Just access. Move toys, pots, or anything fragile off the lawn area. Let us know if there are irrigation lines or buried services. Pets are usually fine to keep inside while we’re working, especially during dig-out and base compaction.
