Lawn laid to the standard the estate guidelines expect, over ground opened up and graded first. Guidelines here often specify how much of the front must be turfed, and we set it out to meet that rather than leaving you to argue it later.
How we lay new turf
Front paths, entries and alfresco areas paved to a level finish, using materials that sit within what your release permits. Several estates here restrict colours and finishes at the front, which is worth checking before anything is ordered.
How we approach paving
Walls to recover the flat yard a boundary step is taking up, built with drainage behind them. Where a wall will be visible from the street the finish usually has to satisfy the guidelines too, and we allow for that in the specification.
How we build retaining walls
Mulch at a depth that holds moisture on an exposed block with no shade. It is also usually a requirement of the front yard guidelines, and we finish it to a standard that passes.
More on mulching
Shaping and maintaining the screening hedges these compact blocks need along the boundary, where houses sit close together with nothing else between them.
How we trim hedges
Shaping young trees so they grow into the form and the shade you want, rather than needing heavy correction in five years. Early pruning on a new block is cheap and worth doing.
More on tree pruning and trimming
Beds, paving joints and gravel cleared back to a clean finish. A bare new block grows weeds quickly, and clearing before planting saves doing the job twice.
More on weeding
Builder's debris, offcuts, excess fill and green waste taken away. Clearing the leftovers from a new block is usually its own load and we size it in the quote.

Removing a tree or large stump left on the block, or one planted too close to the house. Where approval is needed through Camden Council we flag it at quoting stage.
