Courtyards, balconies and planters
Small spaces where every plant is visible and nothing can be left to go over. These are short, frequent visits, and the value is in the finish rather than the volume of work.
More than half of Ryde now lives in apartments, so a lot of the gardening here is courtyards, common areas and entry planting rather than big backyards. We do both, at a fixed price per visit and with the waste taken away each time.
Ryde sits about 13 kilometres north-west of the city on the north bank of the Parramatta River. Around 56 per cent of homes are now flats or apartments and only about 35 per cent are separate houses, so the work splits cleanly between small shared spaces and traditional back gardens.

Shared garden strips, driveway planting and building entries. The job is as much about keeping access clear and working to the building's hours as it is about the planting itself.
Ryde still has plenty of older houses with established back gardens and mature trees, often on blocks that fall away toward the river. Those are a traditional maintenance job and usually need more per visit.
Tell us whether it is a courtyard, a common area or a full back garden and we will size the visit to match.
Beds, paths, paving joints and planter boxes cleared back to a clean finish. In a small Ryde courtyard weeds are the whole impression, so this is usually the first and most valuable job.
How we handle weedingScreens, formal hedges and the clipped planting common around unit entries, cut to a clean line. Screening hedges between close-set Ryde properties need density kept rather than opened up.
How we trim hedgesFresh mulch at the right depth to hold moisture and give beds a defined edge. In planters and raised beds the volume is small, so it is a cheap way to lift how a shared space reads.
What our mulching involvesCanopies lifted off roofs, gutters and fences, and growth thinned so light reaches the garden below. On the older Ryde house blocks the established trees are often overdue a lift.
See our pruning and trimmingNew lawn over prepared and levelled ground, with a variety matched to the light. Small Ryde lawns are often shaded by a neighbouring building for much of the day, which rules out most turfs.
How we lay new turfRemoving a tree that has outgrown a small block or is dropping over a roof. The City of Ryde controls removal and significant pruning of many trees, and we check and flag it at quoting stage.
About our tree lopping workClippings, prunings and garden rubbish taken away when we finish. In unit blocks and townhouses there is rarely anywhere to put it, so it all leaves with us.
See our rubbish removalSleeper, block and masonry walls for the older Ryde blocks that fall away toward the river. Holding the ground first is what makes a flat, usable terrace possible, and every wall we build gets proper drainage behind it.
More on our retaining wallsSmall spaces are not automatically cheap, and large ones are not automatically expensive. These decide it.
Three steps, a fixed written price per visit, and no lock-in contract.
Courtyard, common area or back garden, we look at access, light and what is actually failing, then tell you what it needs.
A fixed price per visit sized to the space. Small courtyards suit short frequent visits, house gardens usually need longer and less often.
Same crew each time. All clippings and waste leave with us, and entries, paths and driveways are left clear.
Terry and his team are fantastic to work with.
The team have been very professional with their work, communication and they were also fast paced.
They use very high quality materials and workmanship is flawless.
Ryde sits between Parramatta and the city, with Eastwood, Marsfield, West Ryde, North Ryde, Meadowbank, Putney and Gladesville around it. The same crew works across the council area and the suburbs bordering it.

Yes. Small spaces suit a short, frequent visit, and because there is less to do each time they are among the cheaper gardens we look after. The finish is what matters in a courtyard, and that is exactly what regular visits deliver.
Yes. We work to the building's access hours, keep entries and driveways clear, and provide the written scope and fixed price a managing agent or committee needs for approval.
Usually, yes. The fix is choosing planting and turf for the light the space genuinely gets, and in some cases replacing a struggling lawn with paving or a planted bed that will actually hold up. We work that out on site.
