Sand near the coast, sandstone in the bush, two very different jobs

Close to Cronulla and the Port Hacking foreshore, the soil is sandy and fast draining, and salt wind burns anything too soft. Head inland toward Menai, Bangor and Engadine and you hit Hawkesbury sandstone with only a thin layer of soil over the rock, plus bushland right up to the fence line.

One approach does not suit both. We read each block first, then match the planting, the soil work and the materials to it, whether that means salt hardy coastal species and improved sand, or working with the natural sandstone shelves and keeping fuel down on a fire prone lot.

I had to completely refurbish my apartment veranda. A lot of work repotting 15 huge troughs and pots and I was quite particular about the soil I wanted. My mum is elderly and LOVES her garden.The vegie garden and entire front and backyard had not been cleaned up for 10 years so we wanted someone that mum felt comfortable talking with and that would do a great job. She is very fussy. Terry and his team transformed her garden and did an AMAZING job - WOW! Looks like a new home. We are so happy and we want him to come back and maintain it.
